We recently shared the first of a series of hair tutorials we’ve created to provide you with some inspiration of ways to style your Stranded hair extensions. Today we have a twisted braid style that will finish off any look beautifully.
For this look, our model is wearing our 18 inch curly 3 piece clip in extension set from our heat resistant range.
Step 1
Firstly, we need to attach the extensions. Separate off the top section of your own hair and clip out of the way. Take the largest, central piece of your hair extension and attach it to the middle of your head. Then attach the two smaller pieces of hair extensions to either side, creating a full strip around your head. Be careful not to place these too close to the front, as we don’t want them showing at the hair line. *If instead you want to use one of our one piece clip ins or our 6 piece set, attach these as you usually would.
Step 2
Let the top section of your own hair down and gently brush to blend in with the extensions.
Step 3
Next, we’re going to create our braids on either side. Take the front section of hair, roughly to where the ear is, and it’s at that point that you want to start braiding the hair in a simple 3 strand plait directed away from your face. Once you get around 2/3 of the way down the hair, tie the braid with a hair elastic to secure. Repeat this on the other side.
Step 4
We’re now going to loosen the braids up a little and make them look fuller. To do this, you just need to pull gently at the strands in the plait, loosening the hair a little and making it look thicker. You only need to pull a little at each strand, not too much or it will begin to look too messy. We’re going to do this for both braids.
Step 5
To finish the look, you need to take both braids, and about an inch above where the braid ends you’re going to cross one side over the other in the middle of the head, then pin them in place using hair grips.
You now have a lovely braided style that’s quick and easy to create yourself!
